New Trends for Lush Landscapes

Mar 7, 2018, 20:47 PM
As the weather warms up, we are kicking into gear to prepare our outdoor spaces and gardens for spring and summer. The Salt Lake Tribune Home + Garden Show features 25,000 square feet of lush landscape gardens from top of the line gardening and landscaping companies - all under one roof at the Mountain America Expo Center.

Lush Lanscapes

Here are some fun 2018 landscaping trends to consider for your outdoor space:

1. Add a pop of color to your landscape. Too many colors in your garden can create a rainbow of confusion, but adding just one stand out color to the green from grasses, bushes, and trees is an attractive and eye catching way of making your landscape pop.

2. Create a sense of enclosure using your garden. While a fence has a practical purpose of keeping your home safe, creating a sense of enclosure through landscaping is welcoming and creates a softer sense of privacy.

3. Zen gardens. When creating a space, consider using symmetry and flowing curves to add natural grace to your landscape. Making your garden a peaceful place for reflecting, meditation, or yoga creates a personal outdoor sanctuary.

4. Water features. The soothing sound of running water can transform an ordinary yard into a lush landscape. Fishponds, fountains, and waterfalls can create a beautiful focal point and live element to your outdoor space.
